Meet Colleen

With 15 years of experience behind the chair, Colleen has been passionate about hair since childhood—her very first “client” was her little sister at just 4 years old. She trained at Xenon International Academy in Kansas and Capri College in Dubuque, and today she specializes in curly hair cutting and styling, bridal and special occasion looks, dimensional lived-in coloring, dramatic transformations, and both permanent and demi-permanent smoothing treatments.

Colleen has a special love for working with textured hair. Whether she’s helping clients embrace their natural curls or crafting a bold new look, her goal is always to empower each person to feel confident in their own unique beauty. Known for her personalized approach, she focuses on creating styles that look amazing in the salon and are easy to manage at home. She takes pride in educating her clients with styling tips, tricks, and routines tailored to their lifestyle.

Her go-to must-haves include a high-quality color gloss, a great primer, and a consistent home care regimen—all essentials in her toolkit.

Clients leave Colleen’s chair feeling radiant, refreshed, and like the very best version of themselves. She lives by the motto “less is more”—helping clients filter through trends and tips to discover what truly works for their hair and lifestyle.

Beyond The Salon

Colleen is a wife, mom, and deeply family-oriented. She treasures time with her two children and loves exploring, learning, and growing alongside them. A book and music lover, she also finds joy in creative spaces—whether browsing art supplies at Blick, wandering through an interior design shop, or soaking up a cozy afternoon at River Lights Bookstore.

Her favorite local spots include Brazen for cocktails and dinner, Gotta Have It for one-of-a-kind gifts, and Steve’s Ace for unique finds. When it comes to beverages, she’s all about seasonal comforts—a Medicine Ball tea from Starbucks in the colder months, or an iced vanilla chai from Charlotte’s and a Lavender Blackberry Lotus from The Coffee Lab when the weather warms up.

Colleen is a lifelong fan of comic book movies, a love that started with Friday night family trips to Blockbuster. Movies, books, and creative spaces continue to inspire her, just like the clients she loves to serve every day.
